Our Speakers

Koen Molenaar

Hello, I’m Koen Molenaar, the Sales Manager at VA Systems. Over the past 25 years, I’ve been passionately dedicated to bridging the gap between business processes and IT. For the last 15 years, my focus has been on specializing in the automation of insurance processes for EU insurers. My journey has led me to work with a diverse range of clients, including FRI-DAY, Vereniging Eigen Huis, ERGO Digital Hub, and introducing a new casualty insurance product in the German market. My experience spans across numerous EU insurers, where I’ve embraced the challenges and opportunities in the industry. My drive stems from a deep interest in the evolving landscape of technology, especially the immense potential of AI in the insurance sector. I am committed to connecting with fellow enthusiasts, continually learning and exploring the vast opportunities that the AI era offers, specifically within the insurance space. This upcoming session is a reflection of that commitment, where we will dive deep into the practicalities and future possibilities of AI and automation in insurance claims management.

Bert Schouterden (Operations & Legal | Van Ameyde Benelux)

After studying Law, Bert started working as a lawyer within the firm Monard-D’Hulst in the beautiful year 2000. From there, his interest in insurance law grew and he had the opportunity to act for several national and international insurers. Following a 15-year career in successively being a lawyer, legal consultant, and operations manager at a niche insurer, he joined Van Ameyde as operations manager. In this role, he applied his broad yet specialised knowledge of (insurance) law to standardise the processes involved as much as possible even in the handling of more complex claims. He is particularly interested in process improvements, with his ultimate goal being not necessarily to minimise human actions, but rather to make room for human input for the increasingly important customer experience. From this interest, he has already been asked by various actors within the insurance world to act as external auditor, with a focus on the optimisation of processes within the insurance cycle. During this seminar, he will be pleased to elaborate on concrete cases that demonstrate how automation in a broad sense allows for maximising the human factor in the insurance cycle.

We are looking forward to seeing you in the seminar!
