Our business and areas of specialisation
Van Ameyde Finland operates under two main brands:
- Van Ameyde Marine: Known as Van Ameyde Krogius, we provide independent and objective consultancy services for the maritime sector, including 24/7 full-service solutions. We have served as the Lloyd’s Agent in Helsinki since 1893 and act as an EPIC member and global P&I correspondent. Our experienced surveyors also use advanced tools such as drones.
- Van Ameyde Finland Claims: Our non-marine team delivers comprehensive claims handling services. We manage a wide range of claims, including commercial, household and pet insurance, payment protection insurance, and travel and motor-related claims. We also operate as a traffic accident correspondent under the Green Card system and the EU Motor Insurance Directive.
Our heritage in Finland
Captain Lars Krogius founded our company in Helsinki in 1872, establishing more than a century of history in the maritime and transport sector. In 2009, a significant partnership was formed in motor claims management, and by 2015 Krogius had become fully integrated into the Van Ameyde network. In 2020, the company was rebranded as Van Ameyde Krogius, marking an important step in the development of the Van Ameyde Marine network.
Today, Van Ameyde Krogius is the leading maritime surveying expert in Northern Europe, with offices across the Nordics, the Baltic states and Ukraine. Our non-marine services, known as Van Ameyde Finland, have expanded considerably in recent years and focus on comprehensive claims handling across multiple sectors.
