As from 1 January 2010 the French insurance market has introduced compulsory IT exchange regulations for bodily injury claims handling under the French IRCA convention. As a consequence, IT tools and the use of Extranet must be certified.

We are proud to announce that the Van Ameyde Group’s new IT system ECHO has been granted IRCA certification on 21 December 2009 by DARVA, the French certification body.

Van Ameyde France – a Van Ameyde Group company – handles motor car claims under the IDA and IRSA Conventions and has now added bodily injury claims in accordance with the IRCA Convention, under which data transmission takes place either partially, or entirely electronically.

Thanks to the certification, Van Ameyde France can extend its domestic claims handling activities and has, in fact, dedicated an entirely new department to this type of claims. The new department is set apart from the cross-border claims handling activities as domestic claims handling involves local legislation as opposed to international, European legislation. Dedicated account managers are allocated to our clients and manage a network of lawyers, engineers and doctors. The new domestic claims handling team handles material and bodily injury claims under common law or the IRSA and IRCA Conventions.
